It also did a great job of navigating between furniture and objects, however it had some issues with stairs, and can accidentally crash into things like bookcases.
We loved the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its trash bin when it's full, which greatly reduces the need for hands-on maintenance. The dust bag should last for around 30 loads, or around a month or two and you'll need to replace the filter once every so often (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates making it a great choice for families with pets or children.
Eufy RoboVac Hybrid X8
Robot vacuum cleaners are designed to do the dirty work for you, and they are able to remove carpets and hardwood floors. The best ones can be controlled and monitored via an app on your smartphone and some have mopping technology for kitchen and bathroom floors. They're an excellent choice for busy families and are becoming more affordable. If you're looking for the most advanced technology for your robotic cleaner, then you'll have to pay a bit more.
The Eufy RoboVac X8 Hybrid is a complete vacuum and mopping machine, making it a good option for those living in a flat with multiple floors. The vacuum's 0.6l bin can hold a lot of pet hair. Its dual motors provide an impressive amount of cleaning power. The dustbin can be easily removed and empty, which is great because you'll have to do this regularly.
It's also simple to set it up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the very first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. Once you've done this, the app will help you create an accurate map of your home. It can identify the rooms, divide rooms into sub-rooms in order to make it easier to open-plan living, and help direct the X8 Hybrid towards specific areas that need to be cleaned at a certain time. There are many other robots that have similar mapping and scanning functions, but Eufy's app is more refined and intuitive than the other.
The X8 Hybrid has a great feature: you can control the mop or vacuum via voice thanks to its integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This is a wonderful feature that makes the robot more hands-free. It worked well in our test house.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums, has issues with bare flooring. It may miss pet hair and other small objects, and it is prone to hit objects - like its own charger that sits on its charging base. It's also not as quiet and the whirring noise can be distracting as other models.
Roborock V3S pro
This model doesn't have the same features as the more expensive models we tested, however it does provide the essentials. It has a big dust bin that can hold a large amount of dirt before needing to be emptied. The mop and vacuum system is great for hard floors and carpets with a low pile. It's also very quiet, and we could watch television while it was cleaning without feeling like it was bombarding us with noise.
Our testers were impressed by how simple it was to set up and use, and were impressed by its capacity to clean all the messes off their floors. It was successful in picking up pet hair, messes and carpeting however it had a harder time getting rid of stains that were stubborn. The users found the app to be user-friendly and easy to use, and could schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to help reduce how much they had to do manually. The only drawback is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips can be used).
The V3S Pro is another model from the iRobot's budget line. It offers several impressive features for an affordable cost. It was the best robot vacuum we tested to avoid obstacles and map them. It's also a great budget option for those seeking a more intelligent, self-emptying robot vacuum that is able to handle pet messes and hair on hardwood floors and low-pile carpeting. It's also super quiet and has a huge dust bin that holds lots of debris before it's time to empty it, so you don't have to worry about constantly emptying it.
The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choice lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They appreciated how easy it was to set up and use, however they did note that its battery life is very short and it was unable to stay clear of some of the most stubborn messes we put it through.

You'll still need to monitor the levels of water in the dock manually however, since there's not an automatic reminder.
